Dog breeds may look entirely different, but from the tiny Chihuahua to the massive mastiff, the DNA of all dogs tells us they are basically the same. They do have different traits in which they excel, based on the heritage of their breeding, but the evolution from wolf to canis lupus familiaris, has given us a range of dogs who can sniff out a field mouse in an acre of land within one minute (the Beagle) or run full out at 45 mph for ten minutes (Cape Hunting Dog). Regardless of whether you are a shepherd with a hard-working field dog or a lady who keeps her pooch on a velvet cushion as she reads, there is much we will be revealing in the blogs to come to delight, surprise and entertain dog lovers everywhere.
Stay tuned!
