Service Dogs in Action

Take a few moments to see a service dog in action.  Turn up your sound and watch a service dog at the store:

One of the services these dogs provide is special help to children with autism. This video tells the story of a boy named Alex and a dog named Gus. Gus is helpful to Alex, who is non-verbal, in many ways. One way is that Alex relates to Gus who, short of barking, is non-verbal as well. Since having a service dog by his side, Alex is talking more and laughing more. This dog is doing his job well. The story on this video, telling the boy’s story that led up to getting a service dog, is nine minutes. But it’s well worth your time to watch.

Following the video on Alex and Gus, you will find a variety of additional videos regarding a range of working dogs, including service, therapy and military dogs.  Enjoy!
